Clayface (2026) DC's Body Horror Movie | Plot, Extended Trailer & Release Date. 🩸🍿

Clayface (2026): DC's Terrifying Body-Horror Masterpiece

DC Studios is taking a bold, terrifying step into pure cinematic horror. Written by Mike Flanagan and directed by James Watkins (Speak No Evil, The Woman in Black), Clayface (2026) shifts away from traditional superhero tropes to deliver an unflinching, gritty, and deeply psychological body-horror experience.

As part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU (Chapter One: Gods and Monsters), this movie explores the tragic downfall of a once-celebrated rising star whose desperate bid to reclaim his identity transforms him into something monstrous.

The Tragic Origins of Matt Hagen

The film centers on Matt Hagen (played by Tom Rhys Harries), a rising Hollywood actor whose life and career are brutally shattered when a horrific attack leaves him severely disfigured.

Desperate to restore his original face and salvage his career, Hagen volunteers as a test subject for experimental treatments overseen by a fringe scientist, Dr. Caitlin Corr (Naomi Ackie). However, the procedure unleashes a series of horrifying psychological and physical side-effects. Hagen's grip on reality slips away as his body undergoes a grotesque transformation, slowly turning him into a living, malleable entity made of clay—and setting him on a destructive path of vengeance.
